This website has been co-developed with people living with dementia, carers and professionals. All aspects of this site have been co-produced working with the web developers to ensure the site can be navigated by everyone.
Early on in the development a workshop was held where the group reviewed and compared existing websites they liked and disliked and talked about their expectations for this site. The outputs from this workshop were a Specification and Terms of Reference.
A desktop walkthrough of this site was created and key features were voted on by everyone at the workshop. The web developers took these ideas and started to create the first template of the wireframe.
The web developers created a test web page which was taken to the Dementia Friendly Communities Reference Group and the launch event of the Kent Dementia Action Alliance. Feedback from these events resulted in adjustments being made.
This website aims to ensure people can access the right information about how to live well with dementia at the right time. We hope that this website proves useful and is easy to navigate, we know it is still in its early stages of development and we would welcome your feedback and are happy to change things.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to the Dementia Friendly Communities Reference Group and all other people in personal and professional capacity who have contributed their time, energy and ideas. You are brilliant!
